One of the first questions brides ask when planning their wedding beauty is: how much does it actually cost? It’s also one of the hardest to find a straight answer to online. Most artists don’t list pricing publicly, which leaves brides guessing, or worse, budgeting incorrectly.
This post breaks down what goes into bridal beauty pricing in the Netherlands, what you can expect to pay, and what factors will affect your total. Prices will vary between artists, but this gives you a realistic framework to plan with.
What’s Typically Included in Bridal Beauty Services
Bridal hair and makeup is not the same as getting ready for a night out. It involves a higher level of skill, longer-lasting techniques, products chosen to photograph well and hold throughout a full day, and a dedicated professional on location for your wedding morning.
A full bridal beauty package typically includes:
∙ A bridal trial (a separate pre-wedding appointment to test and perfect your look)
∙ Wedding day hair and/or makeup for the bride
∙ Optional services for the bridal party- bridesmaids, mothers, flower girls
Each of these is usually priced separately, which is why the total cost depends heavily on the size of your party and the services you choose.
Starting Prices at Denise Marie Beauty
Bridal beauty services at Denise Marie Beauty start at €95 per service.
Your total will depend on the number of people in your party, the services each person requires, and any applicable additional fees such as travel or early morning surcharges.
The best way to get an accurate quote is to submit an inquiry with your wedding date, location, and a list of who needs what; you’ll receive a tailored response based on your specific booking.
What Affects the Total Cost
Number of people and services
Each person in your bridal party is priced individually based on the services they need. Hair and makeup for the bride, two bridesmaids, and a mother of the bride will cost more than hair and makeup for the bride alone, and the timeline will be longer too.
Whether you book a trial
A bridal trial is a separate appointment, held before the wedding day, and priced accordingly. At Denise Marie Beauty trials are mandatory for all bridal bookings- they are an essential part of the process and not an optional add-on. If a trial is not possible before the wedding day, an extended wedding day appointment is available at a higher rate.
Travel
Most established bridal artists in the Netherlands charge a travel fee. At Denise Marie Beauty, travel is by public transport and fees are fixed by destination, starting at €10 for local venues and ranging up to €185 for locations requiring train travel and an onward taxi. There are no surprise mileage calculations, you’ll know the cost upfront.
Early morning starts
Wedding days start early. If your timeline requires an artist arrival before 8:00, an early morning fee applies. This starts at €75 per hour for arrivals between 6:00 and 8:00, and €100 per hour for arrivals before 6:00.
A second artist
For larger parties, an additional artist can be added to shorten your timeline. This comes at an additional fee of €200 per artist, subject to availability, plus applicable travel and early morning fees for the second artist.
What You’re Really Paying For
Bridal beauty pricing reflects more than the hours spent on the wedding morning. Behind every booking is the cost of a professional kit stocked with high-quality, long-lasting products, years of training and experience, the time spent in consultation and correspondence before the day, and the reliability of having someone who will absolutely show up, on time, prepared, and focused entirely on you.
A lower price does not always mean better value- and your wedding day is not the place to find that out. When comparing artists, look at their portfolio, their process, their reviews, and how they communicate. Price is one factor, not the only one.
Is a Bridal Beauty Trial Worth the Cost?
Yes, unequivocally. The trial is where the real work happens. It is where your look is tested, refined, and locked in. It is where you and your artist build the communication and trust that makes the wedding morning calm instead of stressful. Brides who skip their trial often wish they hadn’t.
Think of the trial not as an extra cost but as insurance for one of the most photographed days of your life.
How Payment Works
At Denise Marie Beauty, a 50% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due two weeks before the wedding. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, PayPal, or cash.
Trials and single appointments follow the same 50% retainer but the remainder is paid in full at the appointment.
