How to Prepare for your Wedding Trial

Before Your Trial

  • Makeup:

    • Please provide us with a picture of yourself in daylight and of your makeup inspiration photos prior to your appointment. This will help us better prepare for the appointment and ensure you’re happy with the end result.

    • If you have a Pinterest board for hair or makeup, share it with me @DeniseMarieBeauty1.

    • Look for pictures of people that have similar features and coloring to you. If you have the coloring of Gwen Stefani, then don't look through pictures of Kim Kardashian!

    • Tanning: If you are planning to have a spray tan for the day of your event, you should have one for your trial as well. It is recommended to get a tan done by a professional who will hand spray you. This should be done at after any waxing and about 3-5 days prior to your trial/event.

    • Waxing: Have this done about 3-7 days before your trial/event. Newly waxed skin does not hold makeup as well.

    • Allergies: If you have allergies or sensitivities to certain ingredients, please let us know in advance.

  • Hair:

    • Hair needs to be clean, dry, and free of product (however a volumizing mousse is a good idea if you have fine/thin/curl resistant hair).

    • If you do not wish to use the natural texture of your hair, then please have it blown straight but do not use a hair straightener. We love curly hair though! If your hair is curly, consider using your natural texture!

    • If your hair has a hard time holding a curl, just rough dry it. Curl resistant hair tends to remember what you did to it when it was wet so don't be pulling it straight with a paddle brush- rough dry is your best bet.

    • Extensions: You may want to consider using clip in extensions for your wedding day. We recommend getting real hair ones as they can be curled- synthetic ones cannot. Most styles found on Pinterest/IG are using hair extensions! They are the easiest, quickest way to add volume and length as well as helping to hold your hairstyle longer.

Day Of:

  • Moisturize & apply lip balm.

  • Your makeup application does include a light exfoliation as well as skin type appropriate prep however, letting it soak in the night before will help your skin look its best!

  • Please do not apply any makeup. This includes mascara and lipstick!

  • Hair should be clean, dry, and free of product (possibly add volumizing mousse). Do not use a hair straightener.

  • Let your partner know they have to take you out for a date after!

What to Wear/Bring

  • A top that buttons or zips up is preferred- anything that you do not need to pull over your head when changing.

  • Wear the color of your wedding attire. So if you will be wearing a white wedding dress, it is recommended to wear a white top.

  • If you have a specific lipstick that you want to use for your wedding please bring it.

  • Bring any hair extensions, hair accessories, and veil if you have it.

Schedule

  • Makeup or Hair Only - 90 - 120 minutes

  • Makeup AND Hair - 3 hours

Can I reserve my wedding date at the trial?

  • Yes! We will need a completed and signed contract in addition to a non-refundable retainer of 50% of your wedding day services (to be applied towards your total). Please note that we will put a soft hold on your date until the time of trial, after which you will have 24 hours to book your wedding date.

Can I try different looks?

  • We recommend that you choose your favorite look for your appointment (will will work together to determine this). We are happy to make some adjustments to the makeup during the trial based on your feedback. If you want to start a new and completely different look from scratch after the first two hours, we charge $50 for every extra half hour after.
